Below is a detailed lesson plan on a specified topic, I hope it will be very helpful to you as you begin creating your lessons.



Lesson Title: How to Create a Paper plane

Teacher’s Name: Shanahan Gillon

Grade: six

Content Area: Visual arts


Lesson Length (45mins)


Analyze Learners
For Example:                           
  1. Number of Students: twelve (12)
  2. No. of Males: 7 /Females:5
  3. Age Range:10
  4. Mental, Social, Physical, Social Notes such as: Some students are a bit slower in grasping the techniques due to their learning differences and the lack of physical capabilities 
  1. Current Knowledge, Prerequisites, and Notes about Learner Attitudes The ability to fold an envelop to perfection and the understanding of basic geometric designs, these learners are both 
  2. Learning Styles; a mixture of visual and  auditory learning
    (Estimate 35% of Students) whereas an estimated 56% is kinesthetic leaving the other 9% visual learners.
ABCDs of strong objectives are included:
A – Students
B – using instructions given by the teacher and learned from a visual/audio aid
C – accurately
D – in the duration of the class time of 45mins

Select Methods, Media, , and Materials
All methods, media, and materials needed for the lesson are listed. .
1. The methods that will be used in this lesson are : Questions based on how to create the paper plane, such as the step involved where necessary feedback will be given to , as well as  a small discussion to access what the students know and understand about paper folding.
2. The media involved is a projector showing a  short video on the know how as well as the chalk board to write the steps as they progress.
3. What are the materials are the website where the video was extracted from showing how to fold paper planes, paper  to be used in  a live demonstration.
Utilize Media, Materials, and Methods

1.    Preview the materials: gather all the materials necessary, if not present ask the students to aid in non expensive materials ie. paper.
2.    Prepare the materials: The classroom must be ready; .Make sure all the materials such as the projector, paper and the correct step to creating the paper plane are available
3.    Prepare the environment: How about the seating, lightening, temperature of that place? cleaned and arranged in a spacious manner to aid in the teachers free movement in  assisting students
4.    Prepare the learners: Prepare the learners for the topic with note taking; writing down the instructions needed to create the plane.
5.    Provide the learning experiences: students should engage in the discussions as well as the writing of the instructions on the creating process
Require Learner Participation
 The teacher will reiterate the instructions to guarantee success and provide scaffolding in the hands-on process for any student who needs the aid and give feed back and vocal encouragement to aid in confidence levels.
Evaluate & Revise
Evaluation methods for each of the following are included:
  1. Student Performance
will be checked using a rubric with specified grading for each area covered in the creation process ie. execution of techniques.

  1. Media Effectiveness: Check to see how well the video used to demonstrate the making process for visual and audio clarity.

  1. Instructor Performance: Evaluate how well the teacher explained the instructions as well as make sure the instructions were written in the correct order as they should flow.
