Week two:Introduction to the internet and issues in media and technology

The internet has many attributes and we were introduced to the fun idea of the 'Net' having etiquette, how fun is that?
 Guess what it's called......?
Netiquette !
Netiquette refers to the rules that govern the internet and its uses. The internet, the (www) World Wide Web and the other digital concepts were among the highlights of the week. These concepts include the Digital Natives and the Digital Immigrants where we established Digital Natives are persons born with the capabilities of manipulating technology and the Digital Immigrants are persons who weren't born with the capabilities but learned to adapt to using and manipulating technology and used it to their advantage. The terms Asynchronous and Synchronous were contrasted against each other where examples were given in forms of role play. Asynchronous communication terms  mean to communicate one at a time while speaking e.g speaking on the telephone where one person speaks at a time (one talk and the other listens). Synchronous means both parties may respond at once which cause communication to become much more engaging and faster. We also looked at Google Search, Advance Search and Bookmarking. Bookmarking i must say is very easy and interesting it allows the user to save a document page or site address for later date if needed to. However Google search is simply searching the net by typing in data  based on  your targeted data. Advance search is a little more challenging, it allows the person browsing the net to narrows the data being searched to specific info.
Viruses, what can i say about them? They are not pleasant and very much unwelcoming. they are programs designed to cause damage to computers, on the other hand Malware is similar they create shortcuts and glitches. nevertheless here comes the Antivirus which prevents and protects the computer from harmful programs such as viruses and malware yaay......
